Yes, indeed. It was a rather good year for film. Manufacturing Landscapes, Still Life & The World do make a marvelous trio. I should return to them all over a weekend sometime.

I had the DVD, and I think it is now even on R1. It showed at the MoMA for a week, which just barely counts.

Still Life is one I am eager to get back to. It was really odd that I caught both Manufacturing Landscapes AND saw The World again right before Still Life. It was quite a few days.

Great list. Where did you manage to see "Silent Light"? I've been eager to see it for a year now but it has not seen theatrical release to my knowledge (I think it's finally getting one in early 09). I appreciate your inclusion of Still Life. I found it mesmerizing and a nice follow-up to The World. Also loved Flight of the Red Balloon, which will probably make my top ten as well.
