I came across Overstreet&amp;#39;s book on film and some other books at the library and I started reading a variety of Christian writings on film. &lt;a href="http://www.gettherefromhere.org/2009/10/15/sacred-and-profane-a-survey-of-christian-film-criticism/" rel="nofollow"&gt;I&amp;#39;ve also written an article about these &amp;#39;critics&amp;#39;.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Like you, I found it difficult to qualify what Christian film criticism is and even more difficult to use the right words to describe forms of Christian thought that are applied to contemporary film.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I think your points on solipsism among these writers are important. Much of Christian writing about films become a discussion about social and theological issues in Christianity.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My suspicion, after reading several books about Christianity and film, is that Christian publishers can predictably sell the same book about film. It was amazing to me to read so many books about the same issue and find that these writers do not acknowledge prior books.
